FORMED IN 1984 TO HELP PROVIDE A NETWORK OF INFORMATION FOR ANYONE INTERESTED IN REPTILES AND AMPHIBIANS. OUR GOAL IS TO PROMOTE EDUCATION, CONSERVATION AND RESPONSIBLE PET OWNERSHIP BY OFFERING A WIDE RANGE OF RESOURCES THAT DEAL WITH THE PROPER CARE OF THESE FASCINATING BUT SPECIALIZED, ANIMALS.
The Alberta Reptile And Amphibian Society (T.A.R.A.S) Promotes:
– The highest ethical standards in the keeping, care, breeding and sale of reptiles and amphibians.
– The health, well-being, and safety of reptiles and amphibians.
– The use of only clean, well-constructed, and secure enclosures to house reptiles and amphibians
– The use of strict safety protocols in the housing and handling of reptiles and amphibians.
– Maintains that public safety, biological and environmental integrity are of upmost importance.
